Hello and welcome to WyldBlu Designs. My name is Rachel. I am the artist and maker of these handcrafted leather goods. All leather goods are made by me in my home studio in Southern California.

The idea of starting a creative business took shape on an 8 day backpacking trip through the High Sierra Trail. Surrounded by the rugged, wild beauty, I was inspired to blend my love for the outdoors with beautiful, natural materials that serve an everyday purpose. I have been sewing for nearly two decades and wanted to use my skills to explore a new medium. Leather was a perfect fit since I am able to combine my inspiration from the outdoors with art and functional, heirloom pieces. I have been creating leather goods since 2021.

I have a diverse background and upbringing which also inspires my work. My dads family is from the Kahnawake reserve in Canada. My moms family is from New Mexico. I was raised in Southern California. Growing up with different cultures has given me a unique perspective that comes across in my work, with the main goal of always expressing the relationship we as humans have with the earth.

In my spare time I enjoy many forms of art such as painting, ceramics and singing and playing guitar. I enjoy outdoor activities like camping, rock climbing, surfing, backpacking, and riding horses. I value learning skills that are dying off these days, such as cooking from scratch and growing a garden. I feel happy to carry on these skills that my parents and grandmothers carried. Working with my hands is a way of life. These things inspire much of my work.

As an enrolled member of Mohawks of Kahnawake, my connection to my culture plays a significant role in my work. I have had the privilege of displaying my work at the world famous Santa Fe Indian Market in 2023 and 2025; a wonderful experience and privilege to be among some of the best indigenous artists.

Original Designs and Artwork- Each piece starts with a sketch inspired by the natural world.

Handcrafted Process- The sketch comes to life with a self drafted pattern. From cutting and sewing to painting, tooling, finishing, and adding hardware, every piece is thoughtfully made by hand.

Small Batch & One of a Kind- WyldBlu pieces are created in limited quantities, with many designs being truly one of a kind.

With each piece I make, I aim to tell a story-of the mountains, the rivers, the flowers, the animals, and of our experiences in these wild places. The places that connect us to who we are.
